The Ferrari 575M Maranello, launched in 2002, represents a significant evolution of the 550 Maranello. The "M" stands for "Modificata", indicating a series of substantial updates compared to the previous model.
The design of the 575M Maranello is the work of Pininfarina, maintaining the elegance and muscularity of the 550 Maranello, but with aesthetic and functional changes such as the redesigned front air intakes to improve brake and engine cooling, giving a more aggressive look.
A major innovation was the introduction of the F1 (electro-hydraulic) gearbox, derived from the technologies of Formula 1 single-seaters.
