The Ferrari 458 Speciale A (where "A" stands for Aperta, Italian for "Open") is widely considered the ultimate evolution of the 458 family with aspirated V8 engines, making it one of the most collectible Ferraris of the modern era.
The 458 Speciale A was a strictly limited edition and it was unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
Only 499 units were ever produced, making it significantly rarer than the coupe version.
The design of the Speciale A wasn't just about looking aggressive; every curve was dictated by the wind tunnel. It uses mobile flaps at the front (to divert air to the radiators or reduce drag) and a motorized rear flap to balance downforce at high speeds.
It features a Retractable Hard Top (RHT) made of aluminum that cycles in just 14 seconds. Despite being a convertible, it weighs only 50 kg more than the coupe.
