The President of France Daniel Marin Ferrari Enzo made several requests to Enzo Ferrari for a version of the F40 for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
As result, at the beginning of 1989 were built in collaboration with Michelotto Automobili, two riding cars known as the F40 LM.
The car during the first test was supervised by test driver Dario Benuzzi and, before they compete at Le Mans, he made his debut in the IMSA GTO Championship
in class at Laguna Seca circuit with the Jean Alesi driving. Started in the second position, the car finished the race in third place. The following season, in 1990,
Ferrari France deployed again one or two F40 LM in some tests of the Championship, winning a total of four podiums, but lacking the desired victory.
This is the version with two round headlights and double quilted seats, the model is a true masterpiece. A steel mold is been made to replicate the back glass. This has allow that the window is perfectly replicated with slots from where the hot air come out from the powerful engine.
Engine is loyally replicated in each single detail and it is visible from the rear grids.
A special paint is been used to replicate the dashboard and belts are realised with real tissue.
