The Ferrari F355 is a 2-seater sports car with a mid-engined 8-cylinder rear engine, produced by the Italian car manufacturer Ferrari from 1994 to 1999.
In 1995, the F355 GTS version was introduced, which maintained the coupé line unchanged, although equipped with a traditional hard top like that of the targa-type cars.
The name 355 of this model indicated the total displacement of 3.5 liters and the 5 valves per cylinder. During its construction, Ferrari began to transfer some of the knowledge derived from the world of Formula 1 to that of production cars: electronic injection, flat bottom, sequential gearbox and electronically controlled suspension adjustable from the cockpit on two different settings, Normal and Sport. The latter, in particular, stiffened the suspension and, in the versions with an electro-actuated sequential gearbox, speeded up gear changes.
The F355 was also innovative thanks to an in-depth study conducted by Pininfarina on aerodynamics, both for the passage of flows in the fully faired underbody of the car, and around the cockpit.
