The Ferrari 500 Superfast Serie was a model dedicated to customers who wanted a luxury car in addition to performance.
Presented at the 1964 Geneva Motor Show and derived from the 400 Superamerica, it offered a unique engine.
A total of only 36 cars were built with chassis numbers ranging from 05951 SF to 08897 SF, while a one-off 330 GT 2+2 with the lines of the Ferrari 500 Superfast was built on chassis number 06267 for His Highness Prince Bernhard of Holland. Among the customers who bought this exclusive vehicle, which cost the equivalent of two Rolls Royces when new, were the English actor Peter Sellers and the Shah of Persia: the latter, in 1965, picked up two within four months.
