Paris motor show 1959, Ferrari shows to the public the 250 GT Berlinetta short wheelbase that will soon be called by the English acronym SWB, or Short Wheel Base and will soon become the queen of endurance racing in the hands of official drivers and sports customers. The 250 SWB was the evolution of the 250 GT Berlinetta Tour De France with the wheelbase shortened from 2.600 metres to 2.400 metres, and the "short wheelbase" appellation was added to diversify the two cars, which were born mainly for racing.
The Ferrari 250 GT SWB (short wheelbase Berlinetta) is not only one of the sexiest cars ever, but also the first car from the Cavallino equipped with disc brakes.
