The extraordinary Hyperion “Blue Chip” F40 was conceived by a prominent Ferrari enthusiast and collector, who, after owning an F40 for a long time, felt that the car could excite him even more. Hence the idea to customize the car in 2023 with the unique paintwork and Suede Blue interior.
The Ferrari F40 is a sports car produced by the Italian car manufacturer Ferrari, built between 1987 and 1998, whose heir was the F50.
Created to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Modena's car manufacturer, the "F40" was previewed to the press at the civic center of Maranello, on July 21, 1987, by Enzo Ferrari, Leonardo Fioravanti and Nicola Materazzi. In the following month of September it was exhibited to the public during the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Among other peculiarities, the car was the first road car in Ferrari history to be built with various composite materials, such as Kevlar for the chassis, glass fibre for the bodywork, aeronautical resins for the tanks and plexiglass for the side windows which were only sliding for the first 50 cars. At the time of its presentation, it was the fastest road car ever built with its declared 324 km/h (often significantly exceeded in various tests).
