The Alfa Romeo 1900, made famous by its advertising slogan "The family car that wins races," was launched in 1950 and was the Milanese manufacturer's first car to be produced on an assembly line.
With its dual personality, it combined the elegance and practicality of a sedan with the performance of a racing car, as demonstrated by its successes in Touring class competitions.
It had rear-wheel drive. The transmission, depending on the version, had a 4- or 5-speed gearbox, with the gear lever located on the steering wheel in early models and on the center console in later ones, for a sportier feel.
In addition to being a popular family car, the 1900 was chosen by the Italian Polizia di Stato, who nicknamed it "Panther" for its black color and aggressive frontal.
Models produced in cooperation with the German company RGM which devotes its time looking for special drawings of cars, very often unique models to be manufactured by skilled hands in the Saronno laboratories in Italy.
Cars owned by famous people in the show biz or owned by great kings or princes are part of this category.
