Alfa Romeo has always played a key role in law enforcement, and the image of the State Police has also been significantly influenced by the presence of its Milanese vehicles. After the sporadic use of pre-war vehicles, mostly for official purposes, it was with the Alfa Romeo 1900 that the Police began to equip itself with specially equipped vehicles.
Although the symbol on the sides of the Squadra Mobile's vehicles did not appear until the early 1960s, the "Pantera" designation was born as early as 1952 with the entry into service of this vehicle.
Updated in color and equipment, the 1900s remained in service until 1964, but some examples continued to be used as service vehicles.
